Close of Bicentenary Celebrations |
A variety of programmes have been organized in CSI Malabar Diocese marking the close of Bicentenary Celebrations of the Basel Mission in India which are as follows:
DAY 1 - 9 October 2015
- 9:00 am - Start of Valedictory Function from the Gundert CSI Church at Nettur. The 'Bicentenary Torch' will start its journey from Nettur and reach Kozhikode.
- 2.30 pm - Rally with floats will start from Malabar Christian College ground and end in the BEMGHSS compound. Members of the Diocese, Students and staff from various educational institutes partake.
- 5:00 pm - Inauguration function in which the State Ministers, MLAs, Mayor, Corporation councilors etc will participate. The retired Presbytors and Church Workers will be honoured in this function.
DAY 2 - 10TH October 2015 >Kozhikode
- 9:30 am onward - Photo exhibition
- 10:30 am - A Powerpoint presentation on “Basel Mission in erstwhile Malabar: Challenges and responses” by Prof. J.P.Raghaviah
- 4:00 pm - A Music Eve led by Church choirs featuring Basel Mission Hymns.
- 6:00 pm - Cultural Programmes. (Oppana, Bharathanattyam, Margamkkali, Music etc)
- 8:00 pm - Drama "Swapna Soudham" - Based on the work of Missionaries (Concept: Rev. Leslie V. Padiyangaden, Direction: Mr Wilson Samuel Mangalam).
DAY 3 - 11TH Oct. 2015 >Kozhikode
- 9:00 am - Thanksgiving Service (Special Order of Worship)
- 12:00 pm - Lunch
- 3:00 pm - Holy Eucharist and Declaration of the new Diocese
- 5:00 pm - PUBLIC MEETING at Cathedral compound. Governor/Union Minister/Chief Minister and other dignitaries will be invited.
